Sony BMG France annonce la sortie du single The Girl Is Mine 2008 with will.i.am.
The Girl Is Mine 2008 with will.i.am sortira en single numérique (téléchargement légal) le 14 janvier 2008 (version une piste).
Le 28 janvier 2008, les versions physiques (CD et 12") inonderont les bacs.

Les webmasters respectifs des sites anglais MJ News Online et MJ World Network ont été conviés hier à une écoute en avant-première de trois inédits figurant sur l'album "Thriller 25" aux bureaux Sony BMG de Londres. Les titres qu'ils ont pu entendre sont "The Girl is Mine" remixé par Will.i.am, "Wanna be Startin Somethin" remixé par Akon et l'inédit "For All Time". Voici leur rapport:
-Le remix de "The Girl is Mine" (3:12) sortira en single à partir du 14 janvier (en téléchargement d'abord, puis en CD 3-titres le 28 janvier). La voix de Paul McCartney a été supprimée. Certaines des parties vocales de Michael diffèrent de la version originale, notamment les ad-libs. Le CD single pourrait contenir une version démo de la chanson.
Avis commun: Ce titre est un tube en puissance, Will.i.am et MJ en ont fait plus qu'un remix mais une chanson à part entière.
-La reprise de "Wanna Be Starting Something" (4:14) par Akon est plus ou moins identique à la version déjà disponible sur Internet. Michael y chante les choeurs et un couplet légèrement différent de l'original.
-"For All Time" (4:04) ne varie pas vraiment de la version qui circule sur Internet depuis 2003, hormis un pont différent et bien sûr sa qualité de son remasterisée.
Il y aura 4 éditions de l'album "Thriller 25":
-*Classic CD Edition: CD audio et DVD contenant les titres mentionnés dans le communiqué officiel, pochette cartonnée avec la photo originale de "Thriller" en hologramme.
-*Zombie CD Edition: Idem que la version Classic mais avec la photo de Michael entouré de morts-vivants sur la pochette.
-Deluxe Limited Edition: Coffret en forme de livre réunissant le CD et le DVD, plus un livret contenant plus de photos et de texte. Limité à 20 000 exemplaires.
-Super 45 Tours Vinyle: L'album sortira en double super 45t pour les collectionneurs.
*Ces deux versions resteront en fabrication jusqu'à fin 2008. Ensuite, le DVD sera supprimé pour ne garder que le CD vendu avec la pochette normale.
L'album bénéficiera d'une promotion classique, avec affiches, pubs à la radio ainsi qu'un spot TV de 30 secondes diffusé à partir du 11 février. Le single "The Girl Is Mine" sera diffusé en radio à partir du 14 janvier.
